Founded in 1988 as a modest regional art fair, TEFAF has evolved into the world’s most prestigious fine art and antiques fair. Held annually in March in Maastricht, The Netherlands, the fair is organized into nine fields of interest, showcasing more than 260 galleries from all over the world.

Visitors to the fair experience a unique opportunity to view and purchase museum quality artworks and antiques, including paintings by artists from Brueghel to Bacon, as well as objects reflecting over 6,000 years of excellence in the applied arts. There is also a large jewelry component. Every object in every stand has been rigorously inspected and accepted by one of twenty-nine vetting committees, comprised of some 170 internationally recognized scholars and connoisseurs.  Buyers are thereby assured on the quality, condition, and authenticity of every purchase.
